About Us

A company founded on Metal Casting Expertise, meeting the need of OEMs for Globally Competitive Metal Component Solutions.

Malabou

A company founded on metal casting expertise, Malabou is a New Zealand Company with wholly owned subsidiaries in India and Australia.

After many years of running a large New Zealand foundry and realising that the prohibitive cost of New Zealand Castings was impacting on the global competitiveness of local Original Equipment Manufacturers, the Malabou Founders looked for a better way to keep Australasian original equipment manufacturers competitive by supplying them with quality metal components at globally competitive prices

Malabou traces its roots back to early 2014 when they set up a metal inspection, testing and verification testing laboratory in Coimbatore, India. Coimbatore is a major manufacturing and metal casting hub of South India, has a large and diversified manufacturing sector and many engineering colleges producing about 50,000 engineers annually.

Coimbatore supplies nearly 50% of India’s requirements of motors and pumps and around 30% of India’s automotive components. As such it is a premium location for specialist casting, forging, heat treatment, surface engineering, and machining.

Make us part of your supply chain, our team of engineers and metallurgists will work closely with you to enhance your competitive position in the market

Malabou’s team of Metallurgists, Material, and Mechanical Engineers pride themselves at meeting Cost, Quality and Delivery objectives for the supply of your components.

Part I. The Metallurgy of: “Alloy Selection for Elevated Temperature Application”

Introduction This is a complex subject in part due to the time dependant mechanical behaviour of metals under load at elevated temperature. At room temperature, we understand that a part is failing once it is past it’s yield point – plastic deformation is occurring. The part is completely destroyed once…

Part II. The Metallurgy of: “Alloy Selection for Elevated Temperature Application”

Malabou cast special alloys that allow for castings to be used at elevated temperature’s, in some cases in excess of 1000°C. These heat resistant casting alloys consist of predominantly of combinations of nickel, chromium and iron together with small percentages of other elements. Castings made of these high temperature alloys…
