After many years of running a large New Zealand foundry and realising that the prohibitive
cost of New Zealand castings was impacting on the global competitiveness of local original
equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the Malabou founders looked for a better way to keep

wholly-owned subsidiaries in India and Australia, with warehousing in Australia and
