After running New Zealand’s largest Investment Casting foundry for over a decade, The Malabou founders realised that the prohibitive cost of New Zealand casting was impacting the global competitiveness of local manufacturers. They looked for a better way to keep New local OEMs competitive by supplying them with quality metal components at globally competitive prices.

Malabou traces its roots back to early 2014 when they set up a metal inspection, testing and verification testing laboratory in Coimbatore, India. Coimbatore, a central manufacturing and metal casting hub of South India, has a large and diversified manufacturing sector supplying nearly 50% of India’s requirements for motors and pumps and around 30% of India’s automotive components. It is a premium location for specialist casting, forging, heat treatment, surface engineering, and machining.

After initially sourcing Investment Castings, our clients soon asked us to source other manufacturing capabilities, including green-sand castings, hard-sand castings, shell mould castings, precision machined parts, welded fabrications, hydraulic cylinders, wear-resistant cast components, Anti-vibration mounts, Gears, and Splines.

Our wholly-owned Indian Subsidiary, Malabou Testing & Services India (MTSI), manages the outsourced manufacture of metal components through our network of audited metal manufacturers.
